Today I was once again in awe of the potential we as parents have to influence our children for good (or evil in some cases).  I was going about my business... knocking out my "to do" list which included changing our trash service from that of a company that claims "christian" ownership but delivers less than acceptable service to one that I have trusted in the past.  As I was doing this I heard my daughter mention how sad it was that we have not been recycling since our move from Strafford.  I asked the operator to add that service while we were setting it up... Yay!  After I got off the phone Abby very happily helped me sort the stack of paper "junk" on the counter so we could put the eligible pieces in the recycle bin.  Protecting the earth that God created and blessed us with has always been important to me.  It makes me smile to think that my precious child is also mindful of our responsibility to care for the earth as part of following God's plan for us.
